6Jan09 Butterry Sauteed ABC Pasta with Egg plant ++

What's required:
2 1/2handful of ABC pasta (boiled 10min)
About 1/2inch of egg plant (sliced then steamed 5min)
A teeny bit of butter
Grated Australian mild cheese
...and a good 20minutes for prep and cooking

After melting the butter, add on everything to sautee for a few short minutes
Add mild cheese to get the mozarella melt effect.

I know, I know... this is weird combination. But I tasted it and it's good! :)
And Shawn ate up everything. And I did another funny thing, I added steamed cod fish as topping to the sauteed main course (1/2 way thru his meal)!!!

5Jan09 White rice with oats?!

Carbo :
1.5tbspn of white rice grains
1tbspn of oats

Dishes :
Steamed eggplant
Steamed cod fish

Shawn ate almost everything!

Vegetarian dinner

As usual by the end of the week, I ran out of meat/fish. So made do with whatever we have in the fridge. Steamed brocolli, carrots and green peas with brown rice porridge

Not so creamy Cream of Brocolli

I tried making cream of brocolli by following the Super Baby Food book recipe (less 1cup of formula milk required and substituted with water). It was not creamy at all. Anyway I thought it tasted sweet after I added the FM and butter. And since it turned out to be watery, I decided to add these :
- 3handful of ABC pasta
- Chopped raw carrots for toppings
- Baby biscotti

This was the outcome (picture perfect meal + a very sleepy and oh-so-full toddler) :

1st time puking his lunch

I fed him mee sua with minced pork and chye sim. Half way through his lunch, he coughed once and all came out. Ya, he did the Merlion. He grumbled for awhile but didn't cry.Had him cleaned and bathed. His substitute lunch was milk :) Not too sure what had happened but mee sua is just not suitable for him yet!

Dinner was egg and oats for Shawn, while YT and I ate a pile in Sakae Sushi (mum just had chicken ramen). Shawn was happy with the simple fare anyway!

Beancurd at Tampines St11

After his jab at Dr Lee's, we went to St11 market for breakfast. While YT was queing for Wonton noodles, mum took care of Shawn and I went to buy soya bean drink. Saw beancurd and so I asked for one bowl (no sugar added). He lapped about 1/4 of the beancurd. Yummy ya!

19Dec08 Porkie for today

We finished the last bag of cod yesterday. Today my mum bought minced pork. I took pepper infused white radish soup and added a cup of water to it and scooped in some rice to boil. Added the minced meat and cooked for 15-20minutes. Then added greenies to it. The outcome was what you see in the picture (yes it's porridgy). He finished 3/4 of it and also tried to train him to use the fork. It's not too bad. He could aim it right into his mouth but he has the tendency to want to examine the fork and the radish that's poked thru.

13Dec08 Cod fish overload

This menu went on for almost a full week. We bought a huge piece of cod fish from the market on Saturday. Cut into cubes and frozed the remaining. Each day I took out one piece, steam it and add greenies along the way to steam as well. His rice remained soupy type. What I usually do is before serving I would scoop up the rice and soak in the soup for about 5-10min (without boiling). Then served with the steamed cod and veg. He just lurrvvess the cod!

Along the week, he had these pork base soup for the rice : Spinach soup, Black bean soup, White radish soup, Winter melon, Lotus root soup

12Dec08 Introducing Rice!

1st time I was introducing rice to Shawn. I added the soup to make it more soupy. He was ok with it and ate up everything

Plain white rice / Bok Choi / Chicken soup (Just chicken and nothing else in a slow cooker, it was a little oily)

11Dec08 Threadfin

So-so. I don't quite like the fish.. Think Shawn too didn't quite like it. I think he prefers cod

11Dec08 Easiyo

One of our friends introduced Easiyo to me. I got this and it stayed on my kitchen countertop for almost 2weeks before I did something about it. Plus Aiko had helped me lap up one packet of the powder (drove me mad!).

On the how tos, check this out:
http://www.easiyo.com/instructions/threeeasysteps/

I got the starter pack which comes with a jar and 2 flavors of powder (Natural Skimmers and Strawberries). It took the yoghurt to set in about 10hrs or so... The results were curdy yoghurt. Yipeee! I tried and it's quite sour actually. Served it plain to Shawn and he loves it! Since then I added the yoghurt to fruits, cooked rolled oats or just serve plain.

6-7Dec08 Meals in Sentosa

6Dec08 Breakfast with the birds
Lunch he had rolled oats + greenpeas and carrots (veg which I prepared on 5Dec08 and fridged)

6Dec08 dinner : Tucked in mini buffet - Shawn needed all the fibre from the buffet line after not poo-ing for one full day. So I topped up his dinner with lots of fruits. These are just some of it.

7Dec08 I resorted to jar food on Sunday. He couldn't get enough of it!

5Dec08 Birthday dinner in Sentosa

Nah.. nothing special. It's just green peas, butternut squash and brown rice porridge.

Birthday cake : Tiramisu (and he had a bite)
